The Buckreef Project is located in the Geita District of the Geita Region south of Lake Victoria, approximately 110 km southwest of the city of Mwanza, Tanzania. The project comprises five prospects, namely Buckreef, Bingwa, Tembo, Eastern Porphyry and Buziba.
The Buckreef Project itself encompasses three main mineralized zones: Buckreef South, Buckreef Main and Buckreef North. The project is fully licensed for mining and the extraction of gold.
As part of our involvement, we were tasked for the construction of mill foundation, including concrete and reinforcement bars as well as the supply and installation of two 15ton ball mills, focusing on the teams’ mechanical and electrical skills and expertise observing the highest health, safety and delivery standards.
The Buckreef gold project is projected to produce 1.49Mtpa of ore over the life of the mine. The processing plant will respectively have gold recoveries of 92.3% and 85% for primary oxides and sulphide ores.
